1. The Florida Lions Conklin Centers for the Blind will hold its Conklin Center Walk-A-Thon on Saturday, June 19, 2004 at the Florida Lions Conklin Centers for the Blind at 405 White Street, Daytona Beach. It's a great chance to help a wonderful cause and get some exercise and fresh air.
2. Registration starts at 7:00 a.m. The walk will commence at 8:00 a.m. Registration will remain open until 9:00 a.m. should you prefer to begin walking later, but you should finish by 10:00 a.m.
3. Commemorative T-shirts will be given to all walkers with a minimum $10 in pledges at registration. Shirt sizes not guaranteed and will be given at day of walk, first come, first serve. Refreshments will be served during registration and water stations will be available.
4. Start signing up your sponsors today! Sponsors are people like your friends, neighbors and relatives who agree to make a donation based on your results. If your sponsor wishes to pledge $5 per kilometer, you will collect $25 for the 5 K walk.
5. Begin collecting your pledges as soon as possible. Participants should turn in all pledges at registration. When you complete your walk, you will receive a Certificate of Completion. Tell your prospective sponsors that their gifts are TAX DEDUCTIBLE. The Walk-A-Thon will take place RAIN or SHINE!
6. We have something for everyone... A pancake breakfast! Available for a small donation.
